Cyber Bullying PSA

Cyber bullying is the use of technology to send or post cruel text or pictures to harass, humiliate, threaten or embarrass another person. It is the act of bullying online to force someone to do something or feel a certain way. Some of the technology used to do so are emails, instant messaging, web pages, chat rooms, cellular devices, et cetera.
In regards to digital media cyber bullying situations include posting embarrassing pictures and sending death threats. Some cyber bullies start bashing websites where kids can vote on who is uglier or who is fatter. They can hack into your computer and send viruses to it.
Preventing cyber bullying is very important. Educating kids on securing their profiles on social networking sites and the consequences of being a cyber bully. Teaching them respect for others and themselves can stop cyber bullying from occurring.
If you are getting bullied I would advise you to block and report the cyber bully on any device they contact you on if possible. You should tell a trusted adult because they will most likely be able to stop the issue more than a minor can. You can also call hot lines to seek and chat about being bullied.
I believe that cyber bullying or just bullying period is a very cruel and uncalled for behavior. I do not like it and I feel that it needs to stop. It is a very ugly and vulgar action that should never take place.
I believe schools should take the initiative to educate students on the consequences of cyber bullying. They should also influence safe behavior while on the computer or any technology. Schools should also talk to students about cyber bullying on a daily basis and make it a very important issue to stop.
